Yoga Nidra is an effective and accessible antidote to stress. It’s a powerful and unique state of deep relaxation, mental clarity, and insightful awareness. One hour of yoga nidra is equivalent to 4 hours of deep, restful sleep.
Yoga nidra (meaning yogic sleep), is based on classical yoga and backed by modern day science. oga nidra means “ yogic sleep”. Originating in the tantras within the practice called “Nyasa” which literally means “ to place”.
In yoga nidra we place awareness in different parts of the body. In this practice all the channels and senses of the body are stimulated through a guided rotation of consciousness. Yoga nidra is a journey into a deep state of relaxation where the conscious mind is in-between sleep and wakefulness. In this lucid space there is potential for the conceptual mind to rest and deep healing to arise. The atmosphere is receptive and the power of the practice can encourage unconscious habits to be released.
There will be a brief warm up to prepare the body to lie comfortably on the floor for an extended period of time as you are guided through this deeply relaxing process.
